Pan African Legacy YESS Program

October 1, 2025, to March 31, 2027.

OBJECTIVES:

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
The objectives of the YESS Program are to help all youth develop the skills and gain the experience they need to successfully transition into the labour market. These objectives are attained by supporting the needs of all youth, especially youth facing barriers, to develop skills, knowledge and networks through education, skills development, and meaningful work experiences.

PROJECT OBJECTIVE(S)
Over 78 weeks, Pan African Legacy will assist 43 youth facing barriers to employment to develop the skills and gain the experiences they need to find and keep quality jobs. The project will deliver 5 group intakes of Employment Skills Training and Employment Services up to 6 weeks in duration, followed by up to 9 weeks of Quality Employment Opportunities to 43 black youth furthest from employment, including 8 youth with disabilities, 2 2SLGBTQI+ youth, 43 newcomer youth, and 43 racialized youth. The project will also provide access to individualized supports, such as language training, cultural sensitivity training and mentorship opportunities that will enable these youth to benefit from the interventions more fully.
